Crime Rate In AP Down By Six Percent: Sawang

Hyderabad, Dec.29 (Maxim News): AP Director General of Police Gautam Sawang today said the crime rate in the State had come down by six percent this year. He also said they were able to crack their whip on gutka mafia, sand mafia and belt shops in the State. The DGP said the Maoists activities had been confined to only two districts like Visakhapatnam and East Godavari districts.

Addressing mediapersons, Sawang said they also cracked their whip on gambling and card clubs. He said the AP police had won several awards at the national level. He said they were taking steps to implement the Disha Act in the State. (Maxim News)
