Hyderabad, Oct. 2 (Maxim News): Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Friday launched a common travel pass for Hyderabad Metro and Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) services at Praja Bhavan.
The new facility allows commuters to use both Metro Rail and TGSRTC city bus services through a single pass.
The initiative aims to integrate Hyderabad’s public transport network and make daily travel more convenient.
The launch programme was attended by state ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Vivek Venkat Swamy and Mohammed Azharuddin, among others.
The common pass is particularly aimed at passengers who use buses to reach Metro stations and continue their journey by train. It is available at all Hyderabad Metro stations.
Common Pass Covers Metro and TGSRTC Services
The daily joint pass has been priced at ₹400, while the monthly pass costs ₹8,500. The daily pass combines a ₹300 Metro component with a ₹100 TGSRTC component. The monthly pass includes a ₹7,000 Metro component and a ₹1,500 bus component.
The pass can be used on Hyderabad Metro services and city bus services operating within the Outer Ring Road (ORR). Pushpak services are excluded from the common pass facility.
Passengers will pay ₹100 when obtaining the card for the first time.
The amount will be refunded when the card is returned, according to the reported fare details.
The new system is expected to reduce the need for separate tickets for commuters switching between buses and Metro trains.
It could also make daily travel more convenient for employees, students, business workers and other regular public transport users.
Alongside the common pass, TGSRTC has introduced MeeTicket, a mobile ticketing facility that allows passengers to obtain bus tickets and different types of passes digitally.
The integration of Metro and bus services is intended to strengthen multimodal public transport in Hyderabad and provide commuters with a more seamless travel experience. (Maxim News)
