Hyderabad, April 14: Iran has assured that Indian ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz will not face obstruction. The assurance comes amid rising tensions and reported restrictions in the region.
Iranian Ambassador to India Mohammad Fatali said the route will remain open for India. He added that India shares close ties with Iran. He also confirmed that direct talks are underway on maritime movement.

The development follows reports of US actions affecting movement near the Strait of Hormuz. Fatali criticised the US approach to recent talks. He said the US did not engage with a genuine intent for dialogue.
He further stated that Iran’s rights must be recognised. Therefore, he said future talks depend on the US dropping what he termed illegal demands. He also recalled the US withdrawal from the 2018 nuclear deal.
Meanwhile, Iran warned that any blockade of the Strait of Hormuz could impact the global economy. Officials said such actions may trigger a sharp rise in oil prices.
Iran also accused Israel of influencing the failure of recent talks. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi criticised the US stance during negotiations. He alleged that US actions were shaped by external interests.
The situation remains sensitive as diplomatic tensions continue. Authorities indicated that further developments will depend on ongoing international discussions.
