India’s First Hydrogen Train To Run Between Jind-Sonipat From March 31

Delhi/Hyderabad, Mar 13 (Maxim News): Railways are the largest transport system in India. This system, started by the British, has grown with time. Indian Railways are very useful in transporting not only passengers but also goods to their destinations at the lowest cost.

Railway services, which started with steam engines, have been developing in various ways, such as diesel and electricity. In this order, Hydrogen trains are also ready to hit the tracks.

The first hydrogen-powered train will start on the 31st of this month. The country’s first hydrogen train will be launched on the Jind-Sonipat route in Haryana. The train has been designed by the Research, Design, and Standards Institute. The distance between Jind and Sonipat is 90 kilometers. After this, the Railways have decided to make 35 more such trains available. It is said that hydrogen-powered trains will be more beneficial for the environment.

Hydrogen trains run on water. The trains are powered by technology that uses hydrogen and oxygen to generate electricity and release water vapor. They use a total of 40,000 liters of water. Its maximum speed is 140 kilometers per hour. Moreover, the hydrogen train’s sound is also very low. Once the fuel tank is filled, it can travel up to a thousand kilometers, according to the Railways.
