Indo Arab League Vice Chairman And Palestinian Foreign Affairs Minister Discuss Path To Palestinian Statehood
- Palestinian FM appreciates Indo Arab League’s longstanding solidarity
New Delhi, Jan 30: Indo Arab League Vice Chairman and The Freedom Press English Daily Chief Editor, Mohammed Abdullah Khan held a meeting with Palestinian Foreign Affairs Minister Varsen Aghabekian Shahin during her official visit to India at the Embassy of the State of Palestine in New Delhi.
The meeting focused on the ongoing situation in Palestine, the humanitarian and political challenges faced by the Palestinian people, and the urgent need for a just and lasting peace in the region. Both leaders discussed the importance of international efforts through platforms such as the Board of Peace for the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, in accordance with international law and United Nations resolutions.
Ambassador of the State of Palestine to India, Abdallah M. Abu Shawesh, was also present during the discussions and shared insights on strengthening diplomatic and people-centric engagement between India and Palestine.
Palestinian Foreign Affairs Minister Varsen Aghabekian Shahin appreciated the consistent and principled role played by the Indo Arab League in supporting the Palestinian cause for over five decades. She fondly recalled the contributions of the League’s Founder Chairman, late Syed Vicaruddin, and acknowledged his outstanding dedication and lifelong commitment to the Palestinian struggle. She also commended the efforts of the present Chairman of the Indo Arab League, Dr. Mir Akbar Ali Khan, for continuing the organization’s mission and advocacy at international forums.
Mohammed Abdullah Khan reaffirmed the Indo Arab League’s unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people and emphasized the organization’s commitment to promoting peace, justice, and human rights. He highlighted the importance of enhancing people-to-people relations, cultural exchanges, educational cooperation, and humanitarian initiatives to further strengthen the historical bonds between the people of India and Palestine.
Both sides expressed optimism about expanding collaboration in social, cultural, and diplomatic spheres and agreed that sustained dialogue and global awareness are crucial for achieving peace and stability in the region. The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to continue coordinated efforts in advocating for Palestinian rights and fostering closer ties between the two nations.
