Industrialist Janardhan Rao Brutally Murdered, Grandson Stabbed 73 Time
Industrialist Janardhan Rao | Hyderabad, February 9: Prominent industrialist and head of Veljan Group of Companies Velamati Chandrasekhara (VC) Janardhana Rao (86) was brutally murdered by his grandson in the wake of a property dispute.
The incident took place in Somajiguda in Hyderabad city and the accused was arrested by the police on Saturday. According to the details given by the Panjagutta police.
Janardhana Rao, a resident of Eluru area of Andhra Pradesh, has been residing in Somajiguda for several years. Recently, his eldest daughter’s son Srikrishna was appointed as the director of Veljan Company. Shares worth Rs. 4 crore were transferred in the name of Kilaru Kirti Teja (29), son of another daughter Sarojini Devi.

In this context, there has been a dispute over properties for the past few days. On Thursday night, Sarojini Devi came to her father’s house with her son Kirti Teja. Kirti Teja got into an argument with his grandfather over the distribution of property shares. Tej claimed that he was not getting his due share.
Sarojini Devi went to get tea for his father, Kirti Teja stabbed her grandfather 73 times with the knife.
Hearing the screams and cries, Sarojini Devi ran to save her father, Teja also attacked her and stabbed her in four places with the knife.
When the guard Veera Babu, who was there, tried to come, he warned him not to come near.
Sarojini Devi is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hyderabad.
The police suspect that Kirti Teja is a drug addict. He had recently returned to the city after completing his Master’s degree in the USA.
Kirti Teja then fled from there. The police, who registered a case, took the accused into custody on Saturday. A case of murder has been registered against the accused and an investigation is underway.
