- Industry Outreach Programme boosts defence collaboration
Hyderabad: Industry Outreach Programme at Air Force Station Hakimpet brought together industry and defence stakeholders to strengthen collaboration. The programme took place on 17 March 2026 at the station in Secunderabad. It aimed to give industry representatives a clear view of the station’s role and operations.
A total of 112 representatives from various industries attended the event. Delegates from Air Headquarters, HQ Training Command, and other bases also took part. The programme focused on exposing the Indian industry to the primary role of Air Force Station Hakimpet and the Indian Air Force. During the visit, participants toured several facilities at the station. They gained first hand experience of different operational and training aspects.

Industry Outreach Programme also helped participants understand practical needs. The visit enabled industry personnel to align their research and design approaches with real requirements. They showed strong interest in developing innovative solutions. Meanwhile, their response remained enthusiastic throughout the event. Officials noted that the interaction encouraged practical and executable ideas from industry stakeholders.
The programme further highlighted the importance of collaboration. A ‘boots on ground’ approach allowed direct engagement between industry and defence personnel. This helped both sides understand each other’s expectations better. Therefore, such initiatives can support stronger ties between the Indian Air Force and private industry.
Also, the event underlined a broader national objective. The collaborative association through the Industry Outreach Programme is expected to increase private sector participation in defence. It will also contribute to achieving the national goal of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. Officials believe such engagements will play a key role in building self reliance in defence production and innovation in the coming years.
