Injustice To Irrigation Projects Will Not Be Accepted : Congress

Hyderabad, June 10 (Maxim News): TPCC Pothireddypadu anti expansion struggle committee Chairman Nagam Janardhan Reddy today warned the state government that they would not leave it if it did any kind of injustice to the pending irrigation projects of the southern Telangana state.

Addressing media persons at Gandhi Bhavan along with the Convenor of the committee Rammohan Reddy, members former minister G. Chinna Reddy, former MP Mallu Ravi and Srihari mudiraj he said that the committee would soon hold a meeting and discuss about their strategy to launch their fight on the issue. He also said that they would also take the suggestions of advisors K. Jana Reddy and VH. Reddy made it clear that they would extend their complete support to the steps initiated by the state government against GO MS no. 203 issued by the AP government on Pothireddypadu head regulator expansion. He alleged that the state government did not have any clarity on the issue of the Pothireddypadu.

He also alleged that CM KCR was not reacting on the issue even after the loot of water by AP government . Reddy said that 70000 cusecs of water was going through the old head regulator on the basis of the recommendations of KRMB committee. He alleged that as against the actual allocation of 101 tmc of water, the AP government had withdrawn 120 tmc of water at the rate of 4 tmc from Krishna river so far. He asked the state government as to why it did not close the old regulator. He also alleged that the AP was drawing 3 tmc of water from Sangameswara reservoir.

He alleged that the CMs of two Telugu speaking states were looting the water by colluding with each other. Reddy thanked TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy for giving him an opportunity and appointing as the chairman of the committee. (Maxim News)
