Integrated Sub Registrar Offices To Improve Services: Ponguleti
Hyderabad, Jan 5 (Maxim News): The Telangana government has introduced major reforms in sub registrar offices to ensure faster, transparent, and corruption free services for the public, Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy told the Assembly.
Replying to a question raised by AVN Reddy, the minister said the reforms align with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s vision to end long waiting hours faced by citizens during property registrations.
He said the integrated sub registrar office system would improve efficiency and curb corruption.
The minister informed the House that Telangana has 144 sub registrar offices. Of these, 94 operate from rented buildings, while 50 function from government premises.
He said the government plans to construct permanent buildings for all offices in three phases. Integrated sub registrar offices to be built in three phases
In the first phase, 39 sub registrar offices across Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal, and Sangareddy districts within the Outer Ring Road limits have been grouped into 11 clusters. These offices generate nearly 69 percent of the state’s registration revenue, he said.
He stated that the Gachibowli cluster includes the Telangana Academy of Land Information and Management, RDO Rangareddy, Gandipet, Serilingampally, and Rajendranagar offices.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has already laid the foundation stone for this project. Foundation stones for the remaining 10 integrated buildings will be laid by the end of this month.
The minister said the buildings will be constructed through private developers without any financial burden on the government.
Each integrated office will be built on three to four acres. Developers will maintain the buildings for the first five years at no cost to the state.
In the second phase, similar buildings will come up at district headquarters, followed by constituency level offices in the third phase.
Ponguleti said the slot booking system has reduced registration time significantly, with each document now completed within 18 to 21 minutes. (Maxim News)
