Intensify Green Drive With NREGS Funds, CS Tells Collectors
Hyderabad, July 30 (Maxim News): Chief Secretary S K Joshi today directed the District Collectors to conduct Haritha Haram drive by utilizing the funds of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme(NRGES) across the State.
Holding a video conference from Secretariat today, the Chief Secretary instructed the District Collectors to ensure that fifth phase of Harithaharam program in the State was conducted in a successful manner. “Conduct the green drive in all the villages and mandals and ensure the saplings are protected afterwards, he exhorted the Collectors. He also asked the district-level officials to involve all people, youth, educational institutions, industrial entrepreneurs in the green drive. He said as part of social responsibility, the institutions and entrepreneurs have to participate in the Haritha Haram program and ensure that their areas turn green.
“Take all measures using tree guards and involve people to protect the saplings already planted and those now being planted. There should be focus on green drive in the civic and local bodies people should be involved in turning their areas green”, he added. He asked the district administrators to involve industrialists for protection of trees in their respective industrial areas and surroundings. He exuded confidence that the Haritha Haram program will be successful with a plan of action. (Maxim News)
