Interstate Red Sander’s Smuggling Gang busted, four held

Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone Team, Hyderabad along with Kanchanbagh Police and with the Co-Ordination of Forest Department Officers unearthed an Interstate Red Sander’s Smuggling Gang. Apprehended four persons and seized Red Sanders Wood logs weighing about 500 KGs at the instance of accused. Total worth of material is around Rs. 75 Lakhs and case has been registered under Kanchanbagh PS in Cr. No. 253/2022, U/SEC. 447, 427, 379, 120-B, 109 r/w 34 IPC, Sec. 20(1)(C)(iii)(iv)(vi)(x), 27(2)(i), 29(2)(b), 29(4)(a)(i), 32(A) of TS Forest Act-1967 Amendment Act-2016, Rule (3) of TS Red Sander Wood Transit Rule of 1969, Sec. 3 of PDPP Act-1984, and Sec. 55 (2) of Bio diversity Act-2002 of PS Kanchanbagh, Hyd.

ARRESTED ACCUSED:

1) Ravi Chandra, N/o Kadapa, A.P.State ( Absconding )

2) Shaik Abdullah, Age 42 yrs., Occ: Real Estate Business, N/o Proddutur, Kadapa Dist., A.P., State.

3) Mujahiddin, age 41 yrs, Occ: Canal Construction work, age 44 yrs, N/o Proddutur, Kadapa Dist., A.P. State.

4) Inayath Khan, age 44 yrs., Occ: Real Estate Business, R/o Kalwakurthy, Nagar Kurnool Dist.,

5) Abdul Khader, age 42 yrs., Occ: Real Estate Business, R/o Kalwakurthy, Nagarkurnool Dist.,

PROPERTY SEIZED:

 Red Sander’s Wood logs weighing about 500 KGs.

BRIEF NOTE:

The main accused Shaik AbdullahN/o Dastagiripet, Proddutur, Kadapa District. Earlier he done Ice cream business at Proddutur, he got huge loss in this business. Later, he entered into real estate business in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States. Due to financial crises in his business, he hatched a plan to procure and sell the Red Sander Wood illegally to fulfil his financial crises and to earn quick money. Meantime, he contacted with one Ravi Chandra, N/o Maidukur, Kadapa Dist., AP., who is former and red sander smuggling businessman and requested to arrangeRed Sanders. After that, Shaik Abdullah purchased Red Sander Wood from Ravi Chandra. Subsequently, Abdullah contacted Mujahiddin, N/o Prodduturand informed about the material and requested for provide place for storage and also give good commission. Then, Mujahiddin accepted his request and shifted the material to Kalwakurthy and dumped in his open plot for further disposal. Later, Mujahiddin deputed InayathKhan R/o Kalwakurthy to take care of the Red Sanders Wood andalso to search for suitable customers in the market for disposal. Further, Inayath Ali contacted his friend Abdul Khader, R/o Kalwakurthy and requested for disposal of Red Sanders at suitable rate.

Procurement of Red Sander’s:

Ravi Chandra is a former and Red SanderSmuggler. He used to collect the material from “LANKAMALLA RESEVED FOREST”, Kadapa and smuggle to other states.

On tip off information that, the gang members came to Hyderabad to show the sample of Red Sanders to customer near Midhani Bus depot, Kanchanbagh. Meantime, the Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone Team alongwithKanchanbaghPoliceapprehended all the accused and seized Red Sander logs with the Co-ordination of Forest Officers.The arrested accused and seized property handed over to SHO KanchanbaghPS for further investigation.

The above arrest was made under the supervision of Sri. G. Chakravarthy, Dy. Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone, Hyderabad by Sri. S. Raghavendra, Inspector of Police, South Zone and SIs S/SriV. Narender,N. Srishylam,Shaik Buran, K. Narsimulu& Staff of South Zone Task Force, Hyderabad City along with Kanchanbagh Police and Forest Department Officials, Hyderabad.
