Hyderabad: Kolkata Knight Riders delivered a dominant bowling performance to restrict Mumbai Indians to 147/8 in their IPL 2026 clash at Eden Gardens on Wednesday.
Cameron Green, Saurabh Dubey and Sunil Narine starred with the ball as Mumbai struggled throughout the innings on a difficult two-paced pitch.
After being asked to bat first, Mumbai Indians suffered an early collapse. Ryan Rickelton departed for six before Cameron Green dismissed Naman Dhir for a duck with a sharp outswinger.
Rohit Sharma also failed to make an impact and was dismissed for 15 after mistiming a shot off Saurabh Dubey. Green completed a superb running catch to leave Mumbai reeling at 24/3.
Suryakumar Yadav attempted a counterattack with a six but fell for 15 as Dubey struck again. Mumbai ended the powerplay at a disappointing 46/4.
Narine, Varun Tighten Grip On MI
A brief rain interruption halted play with Mumbai at 57/4 after eight overs. However, KKR’s spin attack continued to dominate after the restart.
Sunil Narine bowled with excellent control and variation, conceding only 13 runs in four overs while dismissing Mumbai captain Hardik Pandya for 26.
Varun Chakravarthy also kept the pressure on despite reportedly carrying a minor foot injury.
Tilak Varma struggled for fluency and scored just 20 off 32 deliveries before being dismissed by Kartik Tyagi.
Will Jacks was run out for 13 as Mumbai’s innings lost momentum in the middle overs.
Corbin Bosch provided late resistance with an unbeaten 32, while Deepak Chahar added crucial boundaries in the closing overs to help Mumbai cross the 140-run mark.
Mumbai managed 52 runs in the final four overs but still finished with a below-par total of 147/8.
For KKR, Cameron Green returned figures of 2/23, while Saurabh Dubey claimed 2/34.
