Ireland Defeat India By 34 Runs In First T20

Hyderabad, June 27: Ireland stunned India by 34 runs in the first T20 on Friday to register their first ever victory over India in international cricket. Chasing 183, India collapsed for 148 in 18.5 overs despite a brisk start from Abhishek Sharma.

Abhishek Sharma scored 49 off 20 balls and gave India early momentum. However, the batting order failed to build partnerships. Shivam Dube made 25, while Tilak Varma added 19. The remaining batters struggled against disciplined Irish bowling.

Ireland shine in Ind vs Ire opener

Matthew Humphreys and Matt Hollard claimed three wickets each. Debutant Jai Moondra supported them with two wickets as Ireland sealed a memorable victory.

Earlier, Ireland posted 182 for 9 after India opted to field. Captain Lorcan Tucker scored 50, while Gareth Delany fell one run short of a half century with 49.

For India, Harshit Rana picked up three wickets. Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel claimed two wickets each. However, Ireland’s total proved beyond India’s reach.

The win marked Ireland’s first ever international victory over India and gave the hosts a memorable start to the T20 series.
