Iron Fist On Sand Smuggling: CV Anand
Hyderabad, Feb 21 (Maxim News): Hyderabad City Police Commissioner CV Anand has made it clear that they are cracking down on gangs that are illegally transporting and selling sand without permits and making money. He explained that a special drive was being conducted to this end.
The Commissioner of Police said that 26 cases were registered in the special drive conducted by the city police from February 14 to 19 of this month.
Meanwhile, 8 vehicles transporting sand illegally have been seized. So far, 57 accused have been arrested and put behind bars. Authorities have seized 1,196 tons of sand, it was said. In addition to public safety and maintaining peace and security.
He said that strict action will be taken against those who engage in illegal activities and promote illegal sand transportation and run illegal businesses. The CP revealed that a special task force police along with revenue officials are being deployed in the field to curb illegal sand transportation as per the CM’s orders. (Maxim News)
