- Islamisation of America debate triggers backlash in Dallas
A senior leader of the ruling Republican Party in the United States triggered a major controversy after making strong remarks on what he described as the Islamisation of America. Republican leader Brandon Gill said his home city of Dallas no longer feels like Dallas to him. He claimed it now looks like Pakistan. He expressed concern over what he described as increasing Islamisation in Dallas and other American cities.
Brandon Gill made the comments during a visit to a mall in Texas. Later, he released a video message explaining his views. In the video, he spoke about immigration and cultural changes. He said the impact of Muslim immigration has changed the character of Dallas. He linked these changes to what he called the disappearance of the America people know and love. Meanwhile, his remarks quickly spread online and drew sharp reactions.
Speaking in the video, Brandon Gill said, “The real America we know and love is disappearing due to the massive immigration of Muslims. Many Americans are feeling sad and disappointed about the Islamization of the city of Dallas in particular. Locals are complaining that mosques are being built on land that has been ours for generations. The entire neighborhood of this historic city is changing. Go to the malls in Dallas and see. It doesn’t look like Dallas. It looks like Pakistan. People of Texas should see Dallas.” He further added, “Our culture, society, and places have changed fundamentally.”
However, the remarks have angered many members of the American Muslim community. They expressed strong objection to the language used by the Republican leader. They said his comments were inappropriate and hurtful. Meanwhile, criticism also focused on his past actions. Members of the Muslim community accused him of seeking funds from Muslims earlier. They questioned his intent and consistency.
The controversy has intensified debate over immigration and religious diversity in the United States. It has also highlighted political divisions over cultural change. Meanwhile, social media users continued to discuss and share the video widely. Supporters defended his right to express concern. Critics said the remarks promoted division. As reactions continue, the comments remain a major talking point in political and community circles. (Maxim News)
