Hyderabad: Police in Hyderabad busted a prostitution racket operating from a spa centre in the Vasanth Nagar area under the KPHB police station limits on February 8. Acting on specific information, officers raided Jai Sri Wellness Beauties and found that prostitution was allegedly taking place under the guise of a massage centre. The action formed part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal activities in the city.
According to the information released, the police received credible inputs about antisocial activities at the spa centre. Therefore, officers verified the details before planning a surprise raid. Later, a team conducted searches at the premises and confirmed that prostitution was being run there. The raid led to the seizure of evidence linked to the alleged illegal activity.
The Cyberabad Anti Human Trafficking Unit played a key role in the operation. Officers from the unit carried out the raid in a planned manner. During the operation, they found several people inside the spa centre. The AHTU officers detained nine persons who were present at the location at the time of the raid. Meanwhile, the officials ensured that the process followed legal procedures.
After the operation, the AHTU officers handed over the detained persons and seized evidence to the KPHB Law and Order Police. Subsequently, the KPHB police registered a case in connection with the prostitution racket. The police then began a detailed investigation into the matter. They are trying to identify who organised the prostitution activity and who acted as the main masterminds behind it.
Police officials said they are keeping a close watch on massage centres and similar establishments across Hyderabad city. They said such illegal activities would not be tolerated. Also, the police warned that action would continue against those running prostitution in the name of wellness or massage services. Meanwhile, officials appealed to the public to remain alert. They advised citizens to report any suspicious activities in their areas to 100 or the nearest police station.
The case has once again highlighted police efforts to check prostitution rackets in Hyderabad. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected after questioning and verification. (Maxim News)
