JAC Announces Strike Call Off, Asks Crew To Rejoin Duties
Hyderabad, Nov.25 (Maxim News): TSRTC employees’ unions’ JAC convener Ashwathama Reddy today announced calling off strike after 52 days of continuous protests.
Talking to mediapersons at employees union office after a meeting, Reddy appealed to the RTC employees to get back to their duties from Tuesday. He also said the temporary drivers and conductors should not come to duties from Tuesday as they called off their strike and would resume duties. Stating that the JAC has won morally and the government was defeated by not holding talks, he said all the employees of first and second shifts should come to their depots on time and join duties.
The JAC leader expressed concern over the suicides and deaths of the RTC employees due to fear of losing jobs. He attributed the situation to the failure of the State government to address their problems and demands. He hoped that they will get justice from Labour Court followed by High Court directions on the strike. “We will continue protests in phases over our demands and the government is supposed to address the same”, he added.
The JAC leader also flayed Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for belittling the court to hold talks and resolve the RTC employees’ crisis. “In the welfare of employees, we called off the strike”, he added. He said they would oppose the government move of privatization of bus routes. We hope KCR will take the RTC employees back to services as court opined”, Reddy said. He thanked all the employees for participating in the RTC strike and vowed to provide help to deceased employees. (Maxim News)
