Jagadish Lashes Out at Modi Govt for Creating Hurdles in Purchase of Power

Hyderabad, April 26 (Maxim News): Telangana Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy today lambasted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for unnecessarily intervening into the matters of the State governments and creating hurdles on the purchase of power.

In a press release, Jagadish Reddy said the Union government’s involvement was nothing in the purchase of power and it is not necessary for the Centre to create hurdles between the National Load Dispatch Centre (NLDC) and State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC). “The Centre is unnecessarily intervening into the matters of State governments and was trying to trim the powers of States.” he alleged.

The Energy Minister said as the BJP failed in Modi’s Gujarat in supplying power to the industries, they are now trying to ensure that Telangana also meets with a similar fate. In Gujarat, power supply to agriculture sector was not beyond six hours in a day. Similarly, two-day power holiday per week for industries was being continued. The power supply in the BJP ruled States was in worst condition. Telangana is the only State in the country that was providing 24-hour quality power supply to all sectors, he pointed out.

Jagadish Reddy alleged that the Centre was showing discrimination towards the Telangana State and it was unnecessarily intervening into the matters of power purchase. With its bullying tactics, the Centre is not only hurting the interests of the farm sector not only in Telangana, but also in the entire country,” he criticised. (Maxim News)
