Jagadish Reddy Lauds KCR’s efforts to protect Rivers

Hyderabad, Feb.27 (Maxim News): Minister for Power, Jagadish Reddy has said that selfishness of human race is destroying the nature and the rivers. He praised Chief Minister KCR for taking effective steps to protect rivers and the nature.

Jagadish Reddy spoke at the second day national Conference on ‘protection of rivers’ here today. Water is life and there is no life without water. ‘We are living on the banks of Musi river, but there is no trace of the river now’. People of Suryapet town had faced acute water problems and they used to purchase water. After KCR became Chief Minister and took up Mission Bhagiratha, water problem became a thing of the past.

The Minister said that following construction of Mallannasagar project, the area under cultivation has increased considerably in the State. Due to the vision of the Chief Minister, every household in the state is getting drinking water. Prior to 2014, Nalgonda district faced severe flouride problem and nearly two lakh people were affected by fluorosis. KCR succeeded in the battle against fluorosis. During the past one year, not a single fluorosis case was registered, he pointed out.

Jagdish stated that due to KCR’s vision and efforts, the State marched forward in agriculture sector in a record level. Trees are essential for getting rains and now there is greenery on either side of all the highways in the State, he said. (Maxim News)
