Jana Sena to contest in GHMC elections

Vijayawada, Nov 17: Jana Sena on Tuesday decided to contest in elections to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

Actor-turned politician and Jana Sena Party President K Pawan Kalyan In a statement here on Tuesday,announced that his party would contest in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election in Telangana to be held on December 1.

Mr Kalyan said that a large number of activists appealed to him on contesting the GHMC election.

“Many activists and representatives of various committees of the Jana Sena party held meetings and resolved to contest in the GHMC election.

The activists at the ground level strongly wished that the party should contest the GHMC
election.

As per their wish, the Jana Sena party decided to field candidates in the GHMC elections”,
Mr. Pawan Kalyan added.

It may be noted that the Jana Sena party had aligned with the BJP in Andhra Pradesh.
However, Mr Kalyan did not clarify whether the Jana Sena would contest in the GHMC election
alone or enter into a poll alliance with the BJP in Telangana.
