Jeevan Reddy demands govt to take all-party delegation to Centre on APRA promises

Hyderabad, Sept.13 (NSS): Congress MLC T. Jeevan Reddy today demanded that the State government take an all-party delegation to the Union government for fulfilment of the promises made in the AP Reorganisation Act. He told the State government that not even single promise made in the Act was fulfilled by the Centre so far. He also said the promise to set up an ITIR project was completely ignored by the Union government.

Speaking in the Council, Jeevan Reddy said the tribals in the State were facing a lot of problems after the formation of the Telangana State. He said while the Union government was providing 7.5 percent of reservations to the tribals, the State government was providing only six percent reservations. Commenting on the distribution of Krishna River water, he said the allocation of water was also not done properly.

He said CM KCR, who took active part in the separate Telangana State agitation, was not able to achieve the rights of the State from the Centre. Targeting the BJP, he said the saffron party has no right to seek votes in the State. He pledged total support to CM KCR on the issue of achievement of the promises made in the AP Reorganisation Act. He said they were ready to fight against the Central government on the issue. He demanded that the Centre remerge the seven mandals, which were merged with neighbouring AP, with Bhadrachalam mandal of the State. (NSS)
