Hyderabad, Oct. 22: The Jodhpur-Hyderabad train was halted at Hingoli railway station in Maharashtra on Thursday following allegations that Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel assaulted a youth and misbehaved with women travelling with him.
The incident reportedly occurred aboard the Bhagat Ki Kothi-Kacheguda Express (Train No. 17606) in the early hours of Thursday, after the train crossed Washim, around 40 kilometres from Hingoli.
An RPF official denied the assault allegations and said personnel had objected to ticketless passengers recording videos.

According to reports, the group was returning from Nagpur after attending a Dussehra event associated with Dr B.R. Ambedkar. The passengers had boarded the train at Akola to travel to Nanded.
A teenager accompanying the group allegedly entered a reserved coach by mistake. Protesters claimed that the youth was assaulted by some passengers and RPF personnel.
They further alleged that women who tried to intervene were pushed and mistreated by RPF personnel. The allegations have not been independently verified.
When the train reached Hingoli, agitated passengers got off and sat on the railway tracks in front of the engine. They raised slogans against railway personnel and prevented the train from moving.
The protest reportedly continued for around two hours. Passengers withdrew it after police assured them that their complaint would be investigated.
