A three-member panel, tasked with gathering feedback from local leaders and cadres, has handed over its final report to State President Ramachandra Rao, in a sealed cover, setting off intense speculation here today.

The committee, comprising former MLA M. Dharma Rao, former MP Pothuganti Ramulu, and senior leader-advocate Komala Anjaneyulu, assessed strong contenders including Juturu Keerthi Reddy, Dr Padma Veerapaneni, and Lankala Deepak Reddy.

Deepak Reddy, who contested from here in 2023, is seen as a frontrunner due to his role as Central District President and his close ties to Union Minister G Kishan Reddy.

While the TDP was expected to join the fray, Chandrababu Naidu opted out after consultations with state leaders. However, chatter about a surprise entry by Nandamuri Suhasi refuses to die down — especially with TDP’s voter base and settler support in the segment.
