BJP candidate Lankala Deepak Reddy submitted his nomination on Tuesday, joining a crowded field that includes nominees from major parties and a large number of independent candidates.

According to the schedule, officials accepted nominations only from those who were inside the gate by the 3 PM deadline.

Therefore, the office processed a surge of submissions in the final hour. Meanwhile, representatives of regional organisations and civil groups also turned up to file papers.

The slate reflects a broad spectrum of local stakeholders and political voices entering the contest.

Alongside party contenders, independent candidates, Regional Ring Road (RRR) affected farmers, leaders from Osmania University, and unemployed associations also filed nominations.

The diverse pool signals strong mobilisation across civic and social fronts. Then, as the window closed, staff prepared for the next stage of the process.

Returning Officer Sai Ram will conduct scrutiny of the filed nominations starting Wednesday.
Candidates will then have the option to withdraw their nominations until October 24. Also, the election authorities reaffirmed the poll day timeline for the constituency.

Polling will be held on November 11. Counting will take place on November 14, after which officials will declare the winners.

The by-election has drawn sustained attention since the seat fell vacant earlier this year.
Therefore, the final hours of nominations witnessed brisk activity at the Shaikpet Tahsildar office.
