Hyderabad, Oct 15 (Maxim News): Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is weighing a high-energy push in the Jubilee Hills by-election as talk grows that KCR may join the campaign on the 19th of this month, energising party ranks that are already on the ground.
The party has named Maganti Sunitha, wife of late leader Maganti Gopinath, as its candidate and moved early to formalise her run.
KTR accompanied Sunitha as she filed her nomination, underscoring the party’s focus on retaining the seat.
There is active discussion within BRS that KCR, who has largely stayed away from public political events since the BRS silver jubilee meeting at Elkathurthi in April, could return to the stump in Jubilee Hills.
Party organisers are preparing for a massive roadshow in the constituency on the 19th, and insiders say KCR is likely to attend, which would mark a visible return to campaigning after months.
The expectation follows KCR’s decision to quickly hand over the B-Form to Sunitha and rally the cadre around the by-election plan.
The opposition BRS has treated the Jubilee Hills by-election as pivotal to its political roadmap and morale, especially as it seeks to defend a sitting seat.
KCR handed the B-Form to Maganti Sunitha and set the tone for a brisk campaign, even as KTR and Harish Rao have already been addressing workers and voters.
Sunitha, who filed her nomination with KTR by her side, has become the focus of a constituency-wide mobilisation that BRS leaders say will peak around the planned roadshow.
Meanwhile, BRS supporters believe a single appearance by KCR could lift the campaign’s tempo and unify district leaders as the bypoll nears.
The party last won Jubilee Hills in 2023 with Maganti Gopinath, and the seat fell vacant after his death due to illness, prompting the by-election.
As discussions continue on whether KCR will take the stage or whether KTR and Harish Rao will front the show, the party is maintaining pressure with daily outreach and visible candidate events. (Maxim News)
