Jubilee Hills bypoll | Hyderabad, Oct 21: The nomination window for the Jubilee Hills Assembly bye-election closed today with a heavy rush of candidates from various parties and many independents filing papers on the last day.
BJP nominee Lankala Deepak Reddy submitted his final set of nomination papers, marking a key moment in the close of nominations for the high-profile contest. Election officials accepted nominations submitted up to 3 PM as per schedule.
According to the details shared in the input, Deepak Reddy handed over his nomination set to Returning Officer Sai Ram at the Shaikpet Tahsildar office.
Senior BJP leaders joined his nomination rally. Union Minister Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay, and Telangana BJP president Ramchander Rao were present at the filing.
The party had earlier decided to allot the B-Form to Lankala Deepak Reddy, confirming him as the official candidate.
The bye-election became necessary following the death of MLA Maganti Gopinath on June 8 this year due to illness.
Therefore, the Election Commission set timelines for the process in Jubilee Hills. Officials said all nominations received by the 3 PM cut-off today would be taken up for scrutiny tomorrow.
Then, candidates can withdraw nominations until October 24. Polling is scheduled for November 11 and counting will take place on November 14.
Meanwhile, the last day saw brisk activity as party candidates and independents arrived with supporters to file papers.
The Returning Officer’s office at Shaikpet managed the flow and ensured procedures were followed.
Also, authorities reiterated that only those who arrived before the deadline could submit nominations.
Later, the scrutiny process will determine valid candidates for the ballot. Then, the final list will be published after the withdrawal window closes on October 24.
With nominations completed, campaigns are set to intensify in the constituency.
The schedule now moves into verification and compliance checks, followed by the poll arrangements for November 11.
Therefore, all eyes will be on the scrutiny outcome and the final set of candidates who will contest the Jubilee Hills bye-election.
