K.T. Rama Rao Appointed Working President Of TRS

Hyderabad, Dec 14 (Maxim News): K.T. Rama Rao, the legislator from Sircilla, has been appointed Executive Working President of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi Party (TRS) by the President and Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao.

The rise within the party of KTR, the erstwhile minister for IT & Industries, and son of KCR, comes within a day of the latter being sworn in as the Chief Minister of Telangana for a second term.

According to the CM’s Office, KCR has decided to concentrate more time on national politics, to bring a qualitative change there. Hence, it was decided to entrust the responsibility of party affairs to a most trusted and efficient person, since he would be pre-occupied with governance activities such as expediting construction of irrigation projects and also to implement the electoral promises in letter and spirit.

The 42-year-old KT Rama Rao won with a handsome majority of 88,000 votes in the weaver dominated Sircilla in Karimnagagar, while he just managed to scrape through in 2014. He is tipped to be the CM-in-waiting by political circles, in the event of KCR playing a bigger role at the Centre. (Maxim News)
