After the BRS filed disqualification petition, the Speaker issued notices to the 10 BRS MLAs. Of these, eight MLAs had responded and submitted their affidavits and the two MLAs, including Kadiyam Srihari and Danam Nagender had sought two months time. The Speaker granted them the time.

Meanwhile, Kadiyam Srihari met the Speaker on Friday but still there is no clarity on Danam Nagender appearing before November 23.

When the BRS party approached the Supreme Court, the Speaker was asked to act on the disqualification petition before October 31. As the deadline elapsed, the Speaker had sought two more months’ time and raising objection over the delay, the BRS once again approached the Supreme Court.

After hearing the BRS petition, the apex court issued contempt notice to the Speaker and wanted him to decide on the disqualification of BRS turncoat MLAs within four weeks.
