Hyderabad, July 7 (Maxim News): Kahaniya, a self-service content marketplace helped 27-years-old CA Sai Teja become a script writer for the just-released Dr Rajshekhar-starred “Kalki” movie, an investigative thriller inspired by true events.
Kahaniya is a start-up founded by an alumnus of SLP (Start-up Leadership Program), NASSCOM a 10,000 Startups and Boston University. “After the initial rough and tumble, last year we started Kahaniya formally representing some of our writers. The result: A writer and his story, both discovered for the first time on Kahaniya, which was released as a Telugu feature film “Kalki” just hit the theatres shares Kahaniya Co-Founder, Pallav Bajjuri in a pressnote issued here today.
“Launched in 2016, we are a strong community of 3,000 plus writers and reached over a million readers around the world. However, we defined our success by the number of opportunities we provide to our writers’ community. Kalki is one such a success story, says Pallav.
In March this year, we released “Daitya Diaries“, which was selected from over 300 entries we received from around the world. Within no time, “Daitya Diaries” a mythological fiction authored by KV Aditya, a debutant author, communication specialist and Fellow of Cornell Alliance has hit “Top 30” charts on Amazon.
As of June 2019, Kahaniya is operationally active in Hindi and Telugu. Kahaniya is our aim to revive stories in regional languages, be it stories, poems and short fiction, Kahaniya is the platform, Pallav said. “One key element we have noticed in vernacular literature industry is that the industry is very unorganized. Many publishers do not even have proper paperwork with their own authors and authors have a tough time finding opportunities. We are working to open up our operations in other regional languages too, with a primary focus on organizing the vernacular literature industry and creating more opportunities for writers.
