Mumbai, July 5: Filmmaker Karan Johar praised Alia Bhatt’s performance in Alpha and urged audiences to watch the film.
Johar posted on Instagram that Alia’s stardom and talent give Alpha strong theatrical pull. He said the film took a solid start with over Rs 17 crore global opening day collections.
Johar added that audiences outweigh online negativity and deserve applause. Alpha released Friday and is directed by Shiv Rawail. The film bills itself as the first female led entry in Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe.
It stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari as elite agents, with Bobby Deol as the antagonist. Anil Kapoor plays a pivotal role and Hrithik Roshan appears as Kabir Dhaliwal. The film opened in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu across India.
