Eighteen BJP MLAs have been suspended from the Karnataka Assembly for six months for allegedly disrupting Assembly proceedings.
Speaker U.T. Khader stated that the decision was taken due to their actions obstructing the smooth conduct of legislative business. Among those suspended is former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwath Narayan.

The suspension comes amid serious political turmoil in Karnataka, where several ministers and other public representatives have been accused of being involved in a ‘honey trap’ scandal.
Allegations suggest that this scheme targets various ministers and key political leaders.
The BJP members raised this issue in the Assembly, resulting in significant chaos and disruption of proceedings.
