Kavitha new political party in Telangana, key meeting today
Kavitha | Hyderabad, Jan. 6 (Maxim News): Telangana will soon witness the launch of a new political party, as Telangana Jagruti president Kalvakuntla Kavitha announced her decision to form a separate political outfit and contest the next Assembly elections under its banner.
Kavitha made the announcement during her speech at the Telangana Martyrs Memorial at Gun Park and in the Legislative Council on Monday.
She confirmed that the new political party will enter the electoral arena in the forthcoming Assembly polls.
Kavitha to launch new political party in Telangana
For months, speculation continued over whether Kavitha would convert Telangana Jagruti into a political party or launch a new one.
Her latest statement has now brought clarity. She also called an urgent meeting of Telangana Jagruti to outline her future course of action today.
According to party leaders, the meeting will discuss recent political developments and gather feedback from cadre, district presidents, and affiliated organizations.
Kavitha is expected to take a final decision after consolidating these views.
Key meeting today
In view of the emergency meeting, Kavitha cancelled her scheduled district tours, including her proposed visit to Siricilla. All state committee members and district level leaders have been invited to the meeting.
Leaders within Telangana Jagruti said there is strong demand to transform the organization into a political party. They argued that achieving public goals and addressing issues unmet by major parties requires a direct political platform.
There are differing opinions on the party name. Some leaders prefer retaining the Telangana Jagruti identity, while others suggest a name reflecting the legacy of the Telangana movement.
Party sources said a final decision will be taken soon, though the exact launch date remains unclear.
Meanwhile, Kavitha’s recent remarks opposing the renaming of TRS to Bharat Rashtra Samithi have triggered debate within BRS circles.
Party supporters have resurfaced her past social media posts supporting the renaming decision, intensifying internal discussions. Her statements have added to political tensions, with BRS leadership yet to issue an official response.
