K Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday announced a cash award of Rs two crore for Buddha Aruna Reddy who won a bronze medal at the recently concluded World Cup Gymnastics at Melbourne in Australia.
Aruna Reddy created history by becoming the first woman from India to win a medal at the event. The Chief Minister congratulated and felicitated her when she called on him at Pragathi Bhavan.
Chandrashekhar Rao also instructed officials to ensure that her coach Brij Kishore also gets some assistance. Sports Minister T Padma Rao, Telangana Sports Authority Chairman A Venkateswar Reddy, Aruna Reddy’s mother Subhadramma and her sister Pavani accompanied her.
