KCR fulfilling Ambedkar’s dreams on Dalit welfare: Harish

Hyderabad, March 29 (Maxim News): Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Tuesday said the TRS government was creating reservations to Dalits in all sectors and Dalit Bandhu scheme was brought for improvement of their lives.

The minister inaugurated 16% reservation to SCs scheme of contract agencies in the government hospital in the office of the Family Welfare Commissioner in Koti. Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao fulfilled the dreams of Dr Ambedkar for the welfare of the SCs. Earlier, the Chief Minister released GO No 59 allocating 21% reservation in tenders for SCs and STs in the Irrigation department. He also pointed out that reservation in allotment of wine shops to Dalits was being implemented and Dalits were manning over 300 wine shops in the State. Similarly, reservations will be earmarked for Dalits in the allotment of medical shops in the near future. He also said 16% reservation was being implemented in sanitation and security wings in the government hospitals. (Maxim News)
