KCR May Announce IR To State Staff On June 18
Hyderabad, June 16 (Maxim News): The State government is likely to announce Interim Relief to its employees followed by a Cabinet meeting on June 18. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will chair the cabinet meeting and is to take key decisions on IR being sought by the State employees. KCR may also take some key decisions like to increase retirement age limit, IR and others being sought by the State employees.
The Chief Minister discussed financial conditions with the officials and asked a report and is to take a call to announce IR. Since there is scope for PRC as related committee did not submit its report to the government for about 9 months due to continuous elections, the chance for the same was remote.
According to information, the Chief Minister may take a decision on IR, which may likely to go beyond 27 per cent on par with the AP employees. It is likely to increase retirement age limit from 58 years to 61 as is the case in the residual State post bifurcation. The Finance officials recently informed the media that it has sound finances and there was no dearth of funds for welfare and development schemes.
Keeping this in view, it is likely that the Chief Minister may announce some good news to the employees during the Cabinet meeting on June 18. The government has to bear Rs 8,100 crore burden on exchequer if it offers 27 per cent IR, while it is only Rs 3,000 crore for 10 per cent IR and Rs 6,000 crore for 20 per cent IR, according to the information. The government withdrew its plans to give IR on June 2 last year and the employees sought it for 43 per cent IR, increase retirement age and address other issues. It is being said the Chief Minister may announce more than 27 per cent IR offered by the AP Government. (Maxim News)
