KCR will sweep polls, Kutami will bite the dust: Asaduddin Owaisi
Hyderabad, Dec.5 (Maxim News): All India Majlis-e-Ithehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday exuded confidence that TRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao will remain as Chief Minister for the second time as he had conceived and implemented historic welfare programs for the poor. He also predicted that the so-called Praja Kutami and the BJP will bite the dust at the hustings. He also dubbed the Congress-led Praja Kutami consisting Telugu Desam party, Telangana Jana Samithi and CPI as the modern East India Company.
Addressing the media at the ‘meet-the-press’ program organised by the Press Club of Hyderabad, Asaduddin Owaisi said the AIMIM will stand to gain from the polls by improving its tally from seven to eight seats this time. Both the Congress-led Praja Kutami and the BJP will take a drubbing and there was no doubt about it. He also said Telangana State was in need of regional parties that represent the hopes and aspirations of the people. The Congress was in power in the State for about five decades and the Telugu Desam party in the undivided Andhra Pradesh State for quite a long time. But both the parties could not do anything for the minority Muslims and deliver the goods to the people, he added.
On the MIM choosing to contest only eight seats in Telangana, Owaisi said it was his party strategy and decision. The MIM contested six seats in Bihar and 26 in Uttar Pradesh as decided by the party. “If the party had its nominees in the fray in more than eight seats in Telangana, the argument would have been that it was intended to split the votes. The decision to contest only eight seats is our political strategy and aim”, he said.
Pledging his party’s total support to the ruling TRS party, the AIMIM supremo explained that some 50,000 minority boys and girls were studying in the minority residential institutions that were set up by the K Chandrashekhar Rao’s government in the State. The State government was spending over Rs 1.2 lakh on the education of the each student. Besides, over 900 minority students have been pursuing higher education in different countries by availing the State government-sponsored overseas scholarship. The minorities facing major problem in the country was lack of education. The Congress and the Telugu Desam had miserably failed to fulfill this and this is exactly where the TRS government has succeeded, he added. Moreover, unlike in the past, there was not a single violent incident in the capital city in the last four-and-a-half years of KCR rule.
Refuting allegations of the Kutami and the BJP against his party, Owaisi quipped his party was not in either B-Team or C-team, but his party’s Team was Hyderabad. Asserting that neighboring State Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu cannot decide the future of Telangana State, Asad said some unknown institutions were coming out with fake surveys on election outcome and confusing the electorate in the State. He also urged the Election Commission to initiate stern action against such printers and publishers of bogus election surveys. (Maxim News)
