KCR’s Daughter’s Ex-CA arrested In The Delhi Excise Policy Scam

Delhi/Hyderabad, Feb 8 (Maxim News): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) made a significant arrest in the Delhi Excise Policy Scam today. CBI arrested Butchibabu Gorantla, former chartered accountant of BRS MLC Kavitha and daughter of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

According to a CBI official, Gorantla was taken into custody for his suspected involvement in the creation and implementation of the Delhi Excise Police. It is believed that he caused undue benefit to wholesale and retail licenses and their owners in Delhi during 2021-22.

Gorantly will appear in Court later and the CBI intends to request his custody in the ongoing investigation. The agency has already submitted a charge sheet in the case, with plans to file a supplementary charge sheet to strengthen the evidence against the accused.

ED on Wednesday arrested businessman Gautam Malhotra in connection with the Delhi excise policy scam.

Later, A Delhi Court on Monday granted two weeks’ interim bail to accused Amit Arora, the Director of Buddy Retail Pvt. Ltd, arrested by the Directorate of Enforcement in connection with the alleged Delhi Excise Policy scam case.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, TRS MLC Kavitha and daughter of BRS President and Chief Minister of Telangana K.Chandrasekhar Rao, and YSRCP MP Magunta were named in the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED’s) second charge sheet related to the Delhi Liquor scam.  

The Enforcement Directorate intensified its investigation into the Delhi Liquor scam, it has attached assets worth Rs. 76.54 crores belonging to the accused in this case.

In connection with Arun Pillai, who is accused in the case, the ED has seized lands worth Rs. 2.25 crores in Vattinagulapally, along with this, Indo spirit Group assets attached are residential property worth Rs. 35 crores. (Maxim News)
