Keerthi Reddy | Hyderabad, Oct 10: BJP state executive member Juturu Keerthi Reddy has accused the Congress of creating needless controversy over the voter list revision process and misleading the public. She spoke at a media conference in Jubilee Hills.
She alleged that Congress cannot tolerate the growing popularity of the BJP across the country. According to her, the party is staging protests on various issues out of fear of defeat.
Keerthi Reddy said correcting irregularities in the electoral rolls and removing duplicate and ineligible votes is necessary for democracy. She asked why Congress leaders, who had earlier alleged irregularities in the voter list, now oppose the process to correct them.

The aim of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), she said, is to protect the rights of genuine voters. Everyone has a responsibility to ensure that no eligible voter is treated unfairly. Anyone with objections over deleted votes should approach the election officials concerned, she said, instead of protesting on the roads.

She also said Congress has no moral right to speak about “vote chori”. Referring to past political developments, she demanded that Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy answer on these issues.
Keerthi Reddy further alleged that the Congress government has failed to implement its promises to the people of Telangana. She questioned why the Chief Minister is holding dharnas and protests in Delhi without resolving problems at home. In her view, he is setting aside public issues in pursuit of a political image.
If Congress truly cares about voters, she said, it should protect the rights of genuine voters and cooperate in removing ineligible votes.
