Key Announcement In Telangana Budget On New Ration Cards
Hyderabad, Mar 19 (Maxim News): The Telangana government has given good news in the budget on new ration cards. Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka revealed in his budget speech that Rs. 5,734 crore has been allocated for the Civil Supplies Department in this budget. The government has decided to provide ration cards and rice to all those who are eligible. Bhatti Vikramarka reminded on this occasion that the process of issuing new ration cards and registering the names of additional family members has started from January 26.
It is known that the government has allowed registering new names on ration cards, correcting mistakes and applying for new cards. Those who are applying for new cards must attach the Aadhaar cards of all family members and the current bill of the house, if you already have a ration card and want to attach the names of family members, you will have to attach their Aadhaar cards. Those who have applied for public administration and public service programs do not need to apply again. The government has fixed a fee of Rs. 50 for ration card application, if you are charged extra, you have been asked to file a complaint.
Civil Supplies officials said that 1.50 lakh applications have been received so far through Mee Seva for new ration cards in the state. It is estimated that up to one lakh applications have already been received in the GHMC area and another one lakh are likely to be received. It is learnt that the government has received more than 10 lakh applications including the caste census survey. Mee Seva Centres and all the applications received in the past. In addition, more than 20 lakh applications have been received for changes in family members. The process of verification of most of the applications and approval of the Gram Sabhas has already been completed. The process of identification of beneficiaries will be completed soon and smart ration cards will be distributed in phases.
It is known that the government has decided to identify the eligible beneficiaries of the more than 90 lakh old beneficiaries in the state as well as the newly applied ones and provide them with smart ration cards. Civil Supplies officials say that the issuance of cards is a continuous process and there is no specific deadline for it. It has already been announced that there will be no photographs on this card, and the smart ration card will have only a unique number.
Civil Supplies Commissioner DS Chauhan said that the card, which has a special chip like an ATM card, is being designed so that the names, Aadhaar numbers, addresses, and ration shop details of the beneficiaries are displayed when swiping it. He said that the technology is being developed so that the details are displayed in the Point of Sale (PoS) machine even if the unique number is entered or the card is swiped. He said that in the future, arrangements will be made to get ration anywhere with the smart card. (Maxim News)
