Hyderabad, May 2 (Maxim News): Union Minister of State for home affairs G.Kishan Reddy today handed over 100 oxygen cylinders belonging to city based DRDO to the management of Gandhi Hospital. The superintendent of Gandhi Hospital Dr. Raja Rao received the cylinders on behalf of the hospital. The missiles wing DG of the DRDO MSR Prasad was also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Reddy said that the Gandhi hospital was serving COVID- 19 patients with 650 ICU beds and added that it was the biggest facility with such number of beds in the entire country. He said that the hospital was receiving patients not only from two Telugu speaking states but also from other states of the country.
He said that he recently made a request to union defense minister Rajnath Singh to supply the oxygen cylinders to the Gandhi hospital and added that DRDO chief Satish had agreed to supply the nitrogen cylinders used by them to the Gandhi hospital after their conversion into the oxygen cylinders. Reddy said that the Center would always try to be a part of the happy and sad moments of the people of the state .
Commenting on the issue of the shortage of oxygen in the state, he said that he spoke to the chief secretary of the state on the issue and asked him to a submit a report . He said that he was going to meet union minister Piyush Goel over the higher allocation of oxygen and remdisivir injections.
He urged the people of the state to not come out of their houses unless there is a need. He also urged the Covid positive patients to not move outside and infect the virus to others . He made it clear that it was the people, who can break the chain of the virus. (Maxim News)
