Koppula Congratulated Umakanth Who Got Selected For IAF Pilot Officer

Hyderabad: Minister for Welfare, Koppula Eashwar, chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, and Principal Secretary to SCD Rahul Bojja congratulated Avula Umakanth who has been selected for Indian Air Force (Pilot officer)

Umakanth, a cadet of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Sainik School at rukmapur is all set to join the National Defence Academy (NDA) at Pune and will undergo Indian Air Force pilot officer training in month of December 2022. Umakanth becomes the second cadet from the Social Welfare Residential Sainik School, Rukmapur to join the prestigious NDA since the school was established in 2018.

Umakanth said, “My heartfelt thanks to the government of Telangana for starting an exclusive Sainik school for less privileged students like me. Without the government’s support and vision, I would not have dreamt of becoming an Indian Air Force pilot in my wildest dreams given my poor economic background.

A native of Bibinagar, Umakanth’s father works as a Data entry Operator and his mother is an Anganwadi teacher. (Maxim News)
