KRMB asks Jagan Govt to Reply on Pothireddipadu, Faults GO 203
Hyderabad, May 16 (Maxim News): In a setback to AP government led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Krishna River Water Management Board (KRMB) on Friday snubbed it on Pothireddipadu plan to draw 3 tmc water by violating norms.
The board expressed a sort of displeasure at Jagan Mohan Reddy government for taking unilateral decision without consulting apex body.
KRMB instructed AP Government to give immediate clarification on GO 203 and its decision to draw 3 tmc from Srisailam project. The board reaction comes after Telangana government and opposition parties demanding action to nullify AP plan to get Krishna River waters.
Telangana government accused Jagan government for proposing to draw waters that will deprive waters in previous Palamur, Ranga Reddy and Nalgonda districts. The board wrote a letter to AP irrigation special chief secretary Aadityanath Das and asked clarification on the issue.
The board opined that Jagan govt issuing the GO 203 was against the reorganization act. The water board asked the Jagan Government to immediately give reply and opinion on the GO. It may be said here that Telangana government has said to move Supreme Court against the Jagan Mohan Reddy government decision to draw waters illegally.
Also Telangana irrigation principal secretary Rajat Kumar has complained to the board on the issue.
He urged the board to direct AP government to refrain from drawing 3 tmc waters He also said that despite repeated appeals telemetry was not set up at the project site. (Maxim News)
