KTR Accuses CM Revanth Reddy of Engineering India’s Biggest Land Scam

Hyderabad, Nov 21 (Maxim News): In a fierce political attack, BRS Working President K. Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) accused Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of orchestrating what he called “the biggest land scam in India’s history.” According to KTR, the newly launched Hyderabad Industrial Lands Transformation Policy (HILTP) is a front for a ₹5 lakh crore scam benefiting politically connected middlemen, relatives, and real estate lobbies close to the Chief Minister.

KTR alleged that the Congress government is misrepresenting HILTP as a land regularization initiative while its true intention is to convert vast tracts of prime industrial land into multi-purpose real estate at throwaway prices. “This is not a policy—it is the blueprint for a ₹5 lakh crore scam,” he said.
“Under the guise of industrial land regularization, Revanth Reddy has initiated the largest land scam India has ever witnessed.”

Over 9,292 Acres of Prime Land Targeted

According to KTR, nearly 9,292 acres of industrial land in key clusters such as Balanagar, Jeedimetla, Sanathnagar, and Azamabad are being regularized under the new policy. With current open market values estimated at ₹40–50 crore per acre, the total valuation reaches ₹4–5 lakh crore.

KTR claimed that the government plans to offer this prime land at only 30% of outdated SRO rates, which are already significantly lower than real market prices.
“Even the SRO value is not being collected. Only 30% is being taken. The remaining lakhs of crores will flow into private pockets,” he alleged.

KTR reminded that these industrial lands were historically allotted at subsidized rates to promote job creation and industrial growth. Many of them were acquired from farmers through public acquisition.

“The intention was to generate employment. But now, these lands—taken from the people—are being regularized for private profit,” he said.
He added that during the BRS regime, similar proposals were rejected because “public land cannot be gifted away cheaply to private entities.”

Suspicion Over ‘Lightning Speed’ of Approvals

KTR questioned the unusually fast processing timelines under HILTP:

  • Applications in 7 days
  • Approvals in 7 days
  • Full regularization in 45 days

“Why this sudden rush for a matter involving lakhs of crores?” he asked.
He further alleged that “Revanth Reddy’s brothers, followers, and middlemen have already entered into pre-fixed agreements,” claiming deals were finalized even before official approval.

Calling the policy an “ATM for the Congress Party,” KTR accused CM Revanth Reddy of prioritizing real estate deals over governance.
“First it was Musi lands, then Metro Rail lands, then University of Hyderabad lands—now 9,292 acres of industrial lands. Revanth’s only vision is real estate,” he remarked.

He said the Chief Minister is “surrounded by land dealers” who are driving the policy decisions.

Legal Warning to Industrialists and Developers

KTR warned industries and real estate developers engaging in the HILTP process:
“Industrialists who purchase land under this policy will face serious legal consequences. These transactions will not stand. The land will be taken back.”

He added that the BRS, if voted back to power, would cancel such regularizations, order a comprehensive inquiry, and initiate criminal action against all involved.

KTR demanded that the government withdraw the policy immediately. He suggested that a sincere approach would involve taking back 50% of the land for public projects and auctioning the rest, similar to practices in metropolitan cities like Mumbai.

“Instead of auctioning and generating revenue for the state, Revanth is trying to loot ₹5 lakh crore and pocket at least ₹50,000 crore,” he alleged.

Concluding, he urged the BJP to oppose the policy and warned the public to stay alert against what he called the “daylight robbery of public resources.” (Maxim News)
