KTR faces backlash for talking about free bus travel for women

Hyderabad, August 16: BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao has found himself in hot water for his remarks on women traveling free in RTC buses. Speaking at a party rally, KTR made a lighthearted comment about the plan, which many found insensitive.

Responding to K. T. Rama Rao’s comments, Minister Sitakka said it was inappropriate to do things like cooking or cleaning in a bus. Later, K. T. Rama Rao clarified that he was joking and had no intention of insulting women.

However, the Telangana Commission for Women took K. T. Rama Rao’s remarks seriously and termed them offensive and insulting to women. Commission chairperson Nerela Sharda condemned the allegations and initiated an inquiry into the matter.
