KTR, Kavitha’s Claims On TRS Victory Are Childish: Cong

Hyderabad, Aug.30 (Maxim News): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy has ridiculed the claims being made by TRS leaders of winning 100 seats in next elections.

Gudur Narayana Reddy, in a media statement, said TRS MP Kavitha’s statement calling TRS as ‘invincible’ was not only childish but laughable. “Chandrashekhar Rao is nothing but an accidental Chief Minister as TRS came to power in 2014 by tricking citizens of Telangana with tall promises. It strengthened its position through unethical means by purchasing 25 MLAs from other parties. It had no guts to face by-elections in those 25 constituencies by making defected MLAs resign. At no point of time, TRS had a strong base or public support across Telangana State. With people realising that they have been cheated by KCR Government, Kavitha is making such tall claims only to boost the morale of TRS leaders who are trembling with fear of defeat,” he said.

The Congress leader also ridiculed Minister K. Tarakarama Rao’s comparison of TRS with a lion which walks alone. “KTR is apparently unaware of his own party’s history. KCR had begged for alliance with Congress party in 2004 elections and Congress had displayed its generosity by leaving 42 Assembly and 6 MPs for TRS. Again in 2009 elections, TRS was part of ‘Mahakutumi’ which had BJP and TDP as allies. In 2014 too, KCR first gave indications of merging his party with Congress and then contested alone using his skills of lying and deception. Therefore, TRS is not like a lion, but a ‘chameleon’ which keeps changing its colours,” he said.

He said Congress had lost the 2014 elections due to several factors. But this time, all Congress leaders are united with total clarity on their goal of bringing the party back to power.

“TRS leaders have been getting nightmares of losing power in Telangana in next elections especially after the recent visit of Congress president Rahul Gandhi to Hyderabad. Sensing an imminent defeat, KCR started speaking about early elections. If he is so confident of enjoying public support, then why is he planning to face elections now and not waiting till April/May till he completes his full term?” asked Gudur Narayana Reddy.

The Congress leader said that the TRS came to power on the promise of turning the State into ‘Bangaru (Golden) Telangana’. But during the last four-and-a-half years, he focussed only on his family and achieved ‘Bangaru Kutumbam’ while turning the State into “Appula Telangana” (Debt-ridden State). “KCR will be remembered in history as the Chief Minister who turned a revenue-surplus State into a debt-ridden State purely for personal gains. The hard earned money of at least two-three generations of Telangana would go towards clearing insane debts taken by TRS Government,” he said.

Stating that the Congress party was all set to come to power in next elections, Gudur Narayana Reddy said KCR and his family members should start packing their bags to move out of Pragathi Bhavan. “The next destination for both father and son will be jail. They will spend rest of their lives in ‘Srikrishna Janamsthan’ repenting their wrong doings,” he said. (Maxim News)
