A Special cell for protection of encroachments of parks, lakes and open spaces has been launched by the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao here on Sunday. The cell which was set up the GHMC’s Enforcement Vigilance and Disaster Management (EVDM) has been given a toll-free number 1800-599-0099.
People can reach on to the number to register their complaints. Minister KT Rama Rao said that citizens can raise a complaint if the lakes, open spaces, parks are occupied illegally. “The toll-free numbers works from 10 am to 6 pm on weekdays and the details of the complainants are kept secret,” the minister said.
Every call or complaint with information related encroachment will be registered and a unique number will be assigned to help in tracking the progress and action taken on the complaint, he said.
In a release issued with respect to the development said that officials are appointed in all circles and zones under Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits. The official who receives the complaint will call the complainant for further details if required.
