New Delhi, April 17: Amid a rise in Coronavirus positive cases, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that it is time to end Kumbh Mela. PM Modi took to his Twitter and stated that the ongoing Kumbh Mela in Haridwar should now have symbolic participation due to the COVID-19 crisis.
He said that he spoke to Swami Avdheshanad Siri of Juna Akhara through telephone and inquired about the health condition of saints who tested positive for coronavirus.
He appreciated the saints for extending their support to the local administration. He wrote that two shahi snan have taken place and now Kumb should be kept symbolic and it will boost us to fight against the Covid-19 crisis.
