Laxman Demands Liquor Ban In State To Protect Lives

Hyderabad, Dec.12 (Maxim News): State BJP president K Laxman today attributed rape and atrocities on women and girls to liquor sales in the State. He demanded that the government ban liquor and protect precious lives of people.

Inaugurating a two-day protest against liquor sales in the State by BJP leader DK Aruna at Indira Park here on Thursday, Laxman accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao of promoting club & and pub culture destroying families. The State was turned into a liquor zone, he charged. The State government was doing business with Rs 980 crore through tenders and earned Rs 20,000 crore revenue.

Aruna charged the KCR government with forgetting to check liquor menace. Women in the State are totally against liquor sale and consumption. Many rape cases like Disha and others are due to liquor sale, she fumed. She also demanded that the State government take steps to ban liquor. Aruna said the AP Government was taking tough steps to control liquor sale. (Maxim News)
