Authorities Monitor the Situation

A senior forest official stated, “We are actively scanning the area using surveillance footage and will deploy trap cameras if required. It’s possible the leopards entered the campus from nearby forest zones in search of food or water.”

Leopard sightings in Hyderabad’s fringes, particularly near forested zones such as Balapur and the outskirts of Shamshabad, have become increasingly common due to shrinking wildlife habitats and growing urban expansion.
