According to eyewitnesses, the leopard was first seen by commuters on the Taramati Baradari main road, where it was spotted crossing towards the Musi river. In another incident, residents of Ibrahimbagh near Golconda Fort claimed they too had seen the big cat roaming freely in their neighborhood.

Police and Forest Department Respond Swiftly

A video clip showing a leopard crossing a road has been widely circulated on social media, intensifying public fear. Golconda ACP Syed Faiz confirmed that the video is under verification.

“We have informed the Forest Department, and their team has already visited the area. Necessary precautions and measures will be taken immediately,” the ACP stated.

Authorities have advised residents to stay alert, especially during early morning and late-night hours. Police patrols have been intensified in vulnerable zones, and Forest Department teams are on the ground tracking the leopard’s movements.

Recent Leopard Activity Raises Concerns

This isn’t the first recent sighting in Hyderabad. Just last week, a leopard was seen at the Greyhounds police training campus in Gandipet. The Forest Department had then installed trap cages and conducted extensive search operations in the area.

The back-to-back incidents have raised serious concerns about wildlife entering urban areas, potentially due to shrinking natural habitats or water scarcity.

Public Safety Advisory Issued

Officials have issued a public advisory, urging people to:

  • Avoid venturing into isolated or forested areas during dark hours
  • Keep children indoors during early morning and evening times
  • Report any fresh sightings immediately to local authorities
